What’s the most important thing you learned in school?
The most important thing I learned is the value of adaptability. In tourism, change is constant—whether it’s market trends, technology or global events. Being open to learning and embracing change has helped me grow. It’s a skill I’ll carry with me throughout my career.
Why did you choose to study travel, tourism or hospitality?
I chose tourism because it combines my love for culture, communication, and creating memorable experiences. It’s a dynamic, educational industry that connects people across borders and tells the stories of destinations. I’ve always enjoyed learning new languages and immersing myself in different cultures. I want to help shape those stories while making travel more meaningful and sustainable.
What is your greatest professional strength?
My greatest professional strength is my ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. I communicate clearly, stay adaptable and know how to keep things moving even in high-pressure situations. I’m also a natural problem-solver who thrives on finding creative, practical solutions. These strengths have helped me collaborate effectively and lead with confidence.
In your opinion, what’s the most exciting trend in travel, tourism or hospitality right now and why?
One of the most exciting trends is how technology is enhancing travel through AI, mobile apps and personalization. While tools like chatbots and smart itineraries offer convenience, travellers still rely on human expertise for deeper insights, personalized care and problem-solving. The role of travel agents is evolving, not disappearing—they’re now curators of experiences, not just bookers. It’s exciting to see tech and human touch working together to elevate the travel experience.
What are your goals for the year ahead?
This year, I’m focused on expanding my network and diving into hands-on work that pushes boundaries in the travel industry. I’m especially eager to contribute to forward-thinking projects that combine sustainability with the smart use of technology. I also plan to earn industry certifications that will keep me sharp and ready for the next big opportunity. My goal is simple: stay curious, stay relevant and make an impact.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I see myself leading innovative projects at the intersection of travel, sustainability and technology. Whether it’s designing smarter, more responsible travel products or building partnerships that drive change, I want to be part of shaping the future of the industry. I also hope to mentor the next generation of tourism professionals and help them find their own paths. Whatever the role, I want to be where ideas become action.
What are some of the top places you want to see in Canada and why?
Tofino is high on my list for its dramatic coastline, peaceful forests and connection to nature and Indigenous heritage. I’ve surfed before, and I’d love to experience it again in such a beautiful, remote setting. I’m also drawn to the idea of cruising Canada’s East Coast and New England, exploring historic ports like Halifax, Charlottetown, and Quebec City from a new perspective. And even though I’ve seen the Aurora Borealis before, I’d love to experience them again somewhere truly remote, like the Northwest Territories, surrounded by vast wilderness. Each destination reflects a different side of Canada, and I want to explore them all—on land, sea and under the stars.
What do you do to engage in travel, tourism or hospitality mindfully/sustainably?
I try to support local businesses—whether it’s where I eat, shop or book experiences—so that more of my spending benefits the community. I also make an effort to learn about the cultural practices of the places I visit and approach them with curiosity and respect. Reducing waste, avoiding over-touristed spots when possible and being mindful of my footprint are things I think about when I travel. I believe even small, thoughtful choices can lead to more responsible tourism.
Name your favourite travel or hospitality experience so far:
One of the best experiences I’ve had was staying at RAKxa Integrative Wellness in Bang Krachao, just outside Bangkok. It’s a peaceful retreat where I got personalized treatments, amazing organic food tailored to my needs and time to fully recharge. They combine traditional and modern approaches in such a thoughtful way—it felt like everything was designed to support my wellbeing. It made me realize how powerful and healing travel can be when it’s done with intention.
Name your greatest achievement so far:
I consider becoming a Baxter Student Ambassador and completing my program with honours my proudest achievements to date. As an international student who moved from Thailand to Canada to study at SAIT, these accomplishments reflect the effort I’ve put into my education and my passion for the travel and tourism industry. I’m grateful for how far I’ve come and excited to see where this path takes me next.
What’s the best OR worst piece of travel advice you’ve received?
My travel instructor, Stephanie Mercredi, always emphasized that “staying informed about what’s happening in the world is essential—for both travellers and travel professionals.” Whether it’s political changes, weather events or emerging travel trends, being aware helps travellers make smarter choices and allows professionals to adapt and support them better. It’s a great reminder that good travel—whether you’re planning it or experiencing it—starts with simply paying attention.
What destination is next on your dream travel list and why?
Australia and New Zealand are next on my list, for the landscapes, adventure and the chance to visit friends and family in both. I completed the Aussie Specialist and New Zealand Specialist programs while doing my internship at Downunder Travel, which gave me a deeper appreciation for their cultures, sustainability efforts and unique experiences. I’m especially excited to explore Indigenous and Māori traditions and see how those are reflected in their tourism practices. It feels like the perfect blend of nature, connection, learning and adrenaline.
