Ocean Signature Resorts' Francisco Basto on the appeal of Costa Mujeres

Ocean Signature Resorts has broadened its presence on Mexico’s Caribbean coast with the addition of a new property in Cancun-area Costa Mujeres and in doing so is providing vacationers with another all-inclusive option in a hugely popular region.

Ocean Signature Resorts is the Caribbean division of H10 Hotels, and specializes in all-inclusive resort experiences.

The newly opened Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres is an adults-only retreat and raises the number of Caribbean resorts Ocean Signature Resorts has to eight, with the brand having three other Mexican properties, the Ocean Coral & Turquesa in Puerto Morelos, also in the Cancun area; and the adults-only Ocean Maya Royale and the Ocean Riviera Paradise, both found near Playa Del Carmen.

The company is represented in the Dominican Republic with the Ocean Blue & Sand, found in the Bavaro area of Punta Cana, and the Ocean El Faro, located in the Uvero Alto area of the Dominican Republic.

The brand’s other properties are in Jamaica, with the Ocean Coral Spring and the adults-only Ocean Eden Bay both found in the Montego Bay area. All the properties are all-inclusives. Ocean Signature Resorts marketing director Francisco Basto said having a resort in Costa Mujeres – found just north of Cancun – made sense for his brand.

“Costa Mujeres is located in an exclusive area, and with our new branding Ocean Signature Resorts and our new brand Ocean Allure, we want to elevate our services and facilities,” he said. “Costa Mujeres was the perfect match to reach the audience who travels to and stays in Costa Mujeres.”

The Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres has 599 rooms and entertainment options include a bowling alley, two main pools and one exclusive pool for Privilege guests, a lazy river, a flowrider, pickleball courts, and such activities such as volleyball, dance lessons, live music, and nightly theater shows.

Costa Mujeres is building a following with people who want to be near Cancun but not necessarily stay in it.

“Costa Mujeres is selected by guests who want tranquillity and exclusivity away from the city, but with the comfort of having the city close to them,” he said. “The resorts in Costa Mujeres also offer more space and amenities compared to the hotels in Cancun. It’s worth mentioning that Costa Mujeres has very few sargassum issues throughout the year, which means the beaches remain clean.”

Basto added that his brand works with the likes of Air Canada, Transat and Sunwing.

Meanwhile, Basto said that, “For the moment, we have no additional plans” to add other resorts.
