Toronto property overlooks the Jays action at Rogers Centre
Take me out to the ball game – without even leaving the hotel!
Ryan Soderberg, general manager of the Toronto Marriott City Centre, proudly states that his hotel is uniquely capable of accommodating major league baseball fans, thanks to its being physically attached to Rogers Centre, home turf for the Toronto Blue Jays. And that clearly makes the hotel stand out, he states.
“We’re proud to say we’re the only hotel in North America that’s physically attached to a major league stadium,” Soderberg continues, noting that it has 55 rooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer direct views of the field. “That makes us a true bucket-list destination for baseball fans and a standout option for guests who want to stay somewhere unforgettable. It doesn’t get more convenient than this! Guests can watch the game right from their field-view room or suite, enjoy it over a great meal at Sportsnet Grill which has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the field and screens throughout if they want to catch a replay. We also have newly renovated, open-air private luxury Skyboxes that are great for groups of friends, colleagues or families. It’s a fully immersive experience, there is no need to even step outside the hotel, unless of course they want to tailgate pregame at our On Deck Patio.”
The four Skyboxes, newly renovated and which can be rented for baseball games, are in the stadium, but accessed from the hotel. They can seat up to 18 guests, and accommodate 25 to 30 people.
The Sportsnet Grill has what the hotel describes as a “Big League” menu featuring new additions like a Great Canadian Poutine Burger, a Montreal Smoked Meat Hot Dog and more (or s’more… with options like the Skillet S’mores Dip or the Snickers Martini).
Meanwhile, Soderberg says the nature of the experience his hotel provides ensures that it will attract baseball fans, regardless of how the Blue Jays do on the field.
“Our bookings remain strong regardless of the standings,” he continues. “While team performance certainly brings added excitement, fans are passionate and loyal, and our hotel is a popular business and leisure destination given its excellent location and proximity to the convention centre and downtown attractions. The Toronto Marriott City Centre is the only hotel in North America located inside a major league ballpark, and it’s a bucket-list experience for many people who want to experience it no matter the team’s performance. Many return each year for the baseball experience, and of course, when the team does well, it adds to the magic.
“Toronto Marriott City Centre is more than just a hotel – it’s a front-row seat to one of the most iconic stadiums in Major League Baseball. Whether you’re a lifelong Jays fan or simply looking for a one-of-a-kind stay in downtown Toronto, there’s nothing quite like it.”
To kick off the season, the hotel also introduced a new lobby activation, where guests are greeted by a stadium-themed backdrop and larger than life-size baseballs, making for the perfect photo op.
