Huatulco resort can cater to the birdwatching crowd

Las Brisas Huatulco is reaching out to Canadians eager to see some of their feathered friends while vacationing in the Pacific Ocean-fronting Huatulco.

Roberto Vallejo, sales director for the resort, notes it has a winter birdwatching guide, something he says helps distinguish it from other resorts.

“I’ve never seen that in another hotel,” he reports. “I know Canadians like birdwatching.”

Daily winter birdwatching excursions are available, with Vallejo reporting that the Huatulco area serves as a home for many bird species and so will be appreciated by birdwatching enthusiasts.

Las Brisas Huatulco is part of a select group in the Mexican hospitality trade, with the Las Brisas name being placed on a handful of resorts in the Latin American country, including Acapulco’s famed Las Brisas, long a celebrity retreat and known in part for its fleet of pink-and-white Jeeps made available to guests.

Las Brisas Huatulco has many great options for clients looking to get out in the great outdoors, including daily bird watching classes

“Our quality of standards are the same,” Vallejo says of his resort and its sister Acapulco property.

The Huatulco property is part of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. The all-inclusive Las Brisas Huatulco spans over 20 hectares and is home to lowrise structures. Its 494 guest units make it the largest hotel in Huatulco. Those rooms have Mexican influences and views of the ocean and tropical vegetation.

Among resort amenities are a kids club for those aged 4 to 12 and the largest convention center in Huatulco. As well, guests will find 6 restaurants, 4 beaches, swimming pools, a spa, a gym, tennis and pickleball. Watersports are available as well and Las Brisas Huatulco will host weddings.

Huatulco tourism authorities proudly note that their destination has many bays, some set aside from development. The community adds that it cleans its beaches regularly and is committed to sustainability.

The surrounding area is home to forests, mountains and waterfalls, making it great for outdoors enthusiasts, they note.
