The Canadian-owned resorts have a loyal following

Mexico’s Marival Resorts has built an upscale presence on Mexico’s Pacific coast and in doing so has created three properties that have a distinct Canadian connection. Salvador Ramos, Marival Group senior vice-president of marketing and sales, notes that Marival is now represented on a part of Pacific Mexico near Puerto Vallarta that has built a huge following in this country.

“The Marival Resorts portfolio comprises three exceptional properties located in Riviera Nayarit and Punta de Mita: Marival Distinct All-Suites & World Spa, Armony Marival Resort & Spa, and Marival Emotions Resort & Suites,” he reports. “Our resorts are AAA Three and Four Diamond family-friendly all inclusives, and with no more than 250 rooms per property, we offer boutique-style accommodations elevated with personalized service. Each Marival Resort property prioritizes quality dining and curated experiences, rather than a one‑size‑fits‑all approach.”

The Marival Distinct All-Suites & World Spa Riviera Nayarit is a five-star, AAA Four Diamond–rated resort offering “spacious residences, villas, and penthouses of up to four bedrooms, some with private ocean‑view pools. Designed for families, it combines Nuevo Vallarta’s beautiful beach with upscale amenities set against the lush Sierra Madre backdrop.”

The Armony Marival Resort & Spa Punta de Mita in turn is a five-star, AAA Four Diamond resort offering luxury one‑ and two‑bedroom suites with expansive terraces and panoramic ocean and mountain views. Surrounded by nature, the resort is designed as a wellness infused retreat, inviting guests to “reconnect, and restore balance.”

The Marival Emotions Resort & Suites Nuevo Nayarit is an AAA Three Diamond family‑friendly all‑inclusive resort designed for multigenerational travel, offering “extensive daily activities and entertainment for guests of all ages.”

“Although Marival Resorts is based in Riviera Nayarit, we are a proudly Canadian-owned company through the vision of the Rizzuto family,” Ramos continues. “Canada has long been an important and loyal market for Marival Resorts. We welcome a strong base of repeat Canadian guests, including families, couples, and multigenerational travelers who value the ease of all‑inclusive travel, personalized service, and the familiarity of returning to a resort they trust. This loyalty has been built over decades through consistent service standards, transparent communication, and destinations that Canadians know and feel comfortable returning to year after year.

“Marival Resorts offers authentic Mexican hospitality with warm, personalized service. This is a direct result of having locally-based leadership and a family-driven company culture. Unlike many large all-inclusive brands, Marival Resorts are intentionally smaller in scale, which has created an intimate experience where guests feel recognized and valued. A high staff-to-guest ratio allows our team to build real connections with guests and provide attentive and responsive service.”

He notes that the Riviera Nayarit has seen rapid tourism growth in recent years.

The Vallarta-Nayarit region, which encompasses all of Banderas Bay, offers a unique blend of natural beauty, accessibility, and authenticity,” Ramos reports. “Travelers are drawn to its swimmable beaches along the Pacific coast, as well as its lush landscapes and laid‑back luxury atmosphere, all within easy reach of an international airport. The destination is also easily accessible via direct flights from several major Canadian gateways such as Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, making it convenient for international travellers.

“Compared to more crowded destinations, the Vallarta-Nayarit region allows guests to enjoy a more relaxed, immersive experience while still benefiting from world‑class resorts, gastronomy, wellness offerings, and outdoor activities, ideal for travellers seeking both comfort and a genuine connection to place.”

Puerto Vallarta, which borders the Riviera Nayarit, saw a flareup of violence on Feb. 22 following the killing of a prominent drug trafficker by Mexican security forces. The violence was quelled within a day, and Ramos says those who choose the region for vacations will be safe.

“Today, travellers are experiencing a destination that is vibrant, accessible and fully operational. Our Marival Resorts team has remained focused on transparency, consistency, and clarity in our communications with our guests and industry partners to ensure all travelers know that guest safety is our top priority, so they feel comfortable and confident about their upcoming visits,” he states. “All Marival Resorts in Riviera Nayarit and Punta de Mita have maintained uninterrupted operations and have continued delivering full services to guests, and our three resorts are supported by 24/7 on‑site security, controlled access points, and dedicated guest services teams.”

Ramos says he’s pleased with Marival’s winter season and has plans to attract guests during the traditionally slower summer.

Winter has remained an active and steady season for Marival Resorts. Demand has remained consistent, and travelers have continued to arrive from major Canadian and U.S. gateways,” he reports.

“Looking ahead to spring and summer, we are focused on highlighting experiences that continue to draw travelers to the region, from family‑friendly programming and wellness offerings to culinary and cultural experiences that reflect the destination’s sense of place. Summer also presents a strong opportunity for guests to enjoy greater value and flexibility, whether they are staying longer, traveling off‑peak, or seeking a more relaxed pace at the destination.”

Meanwhile,Ramos says Marival is reaching out to the travel advisor community.

We continue to invest meaningfully in advisor education, marketing support, and direct lines of communication to ensure our partners feel confident and well equipped when selling Marival Resorts,” he says. “Travel advisors are central to our growth strategy, so our focus is on providing practical tools, timely information, and responsive support that help drive both confidence and results. From fast turnaround times to hands‑on assistance, our objective is clear: to simplify the sales process and ensure that working with Marival is both easy and rewarding for advisors.”

Key initiatives cited by Ramos include:

  • MarivalAgents.com, a dedicated booking platform where advisors can book directly with competitive rates; earn 15% commission; and access exclusive travel advisor rates
  • MarivalRewards.com, a rewards program where advisors can register bookings and earn gift cards and complimentary stays
