A look at how clients can sharpen their skills while travelling

School’s not out for summer! For clients who have the thirst for knowledge, check out these opportunities to learn something new while travelling and exploring exciting corners of the world.

Total eclipse of the cruise

This August, Virgin Voyages is setting sail on a unique 15-night trip to Iceland, Scotland and Ireland that’s designed around the solar eclipse. Sailors will not only experience 100% totality on Aug 12, but also be able to take part in educational talks from astronauts and astronomers.

Taste the wild in the Great Bear Rainforest

Foodie clients can dive into the flavours that make the Great Bear Rainforest special on an immersive one-day Taste the Wild culinary adventure with Nimmo Bay Wilderness Resort. The tide-to-table experience includes a boat journey through the Broughton Archipelago complete with pulling prawn traps, a floating open-air dining room set deep in the wild, sommelier-led wine tastings, and foraging for fresh local ingredients like sea asparagus, wild mushrooms, and herbs from the surrounding forest and ocean.

Calling all budding photographers

Luxury adventure travel company andBeyond has launched two small-group photography journeys to Chilean Patagonia led by acclaimed photographers. Patagonia in Winter with Guy Wenborne runs from August 5-12, and Patagonia in Autumn with Timothy Dhalleine is from April 15-22, 2027. Each journey is limited to eight guests and will blend expert mentorship with hands-on field work, giving photographers the time and guidance to work with real conditions to capture the dramatic landscapes.

Learn about cultural traditions in Peru

As part of Intrepid Travel’s newly launched Women’s Expeditions line in Peru,  travellers can spend time with the Ocotuan (Umasbamba) community, learning traditional textile techniques and making their own bracelet alongside local women. The itinerary also includes a hands-on chocolate workshop at the AMA Sustainable Project, a social enterprise empowering women through job training and employment in the Sacred Valley.

On the custom scent

Clients can say oui to the art of fragrance mixing in France. Molinard, a family-owned, historic house in the town of Grasse, the world capital of perfume, lets travellers create tailor-made perfumes with the guidance of a perfume expert. Fragrance mixing in France is a deeply rooted art form, and incorporates centuries-old traditions.
