Riviera Nayarit retreat has intriguing features
It’s hard to imagine the arrival of guests at the One&Only Mandarina resort in Nayarit going unnoticed.
The sprawling Riviera Nayarit property has a large gong at its arrival area, which is rung each time newcomers pull up, notifying staff inside that they have new people to attend to.
But says resort leisure sales coordinator Ana Juarez Velazquez, the unusual manner of announcing new arrivals won’t disturb other guests seeking solitude, with the upscale retreat spread out over a large area, ensuring the gong won’t be heard by others.
Indeed, the One&Only Mandarina prides itself on being able to offer guests a tranquil stay, continues Juarez Velazquez.
“We keep it very quiet for our guests,” she assures, adding the property doesn’t schedule events late at night.
The secluded retreat has villas spread throughout a wide area, ensuring that guests seeking solitude will be able to find it.
“All our rooms are super private,” Juarez Velazquez continues. “It’s not like any other place you can find in Mexico.”
One unusual accommodation option is a Treehouse stay, with the above-ground lodging having a terrace and plunge pool and “soaring 12 meters above volcanic rock and trees.”
The One&Only Mandarina – about 45 minutes from Puerto Vallarta – is ideal for those who are looking “for a disconnect from the rest of the world,” Juarez Velazquez adds.
Golf cart-like vehicles are available for guests heading from one part of the resort to another.
The One&Only Mandarina – which reports it has Mexican-inspired design – has three restaurants and room service for guests, who are also offered butlers. There’s also a bar. A private beach with a beach club is another resort feature.
The resort also has a spa as well as its own DMC.
