Turkish Airlines connects the world through Istanbul

Turkish Airlines says it has built an unrivalled network that enables it to deliver clients to every continent but Antarctica.

Jamal Hamza of the Star Alliance airline’s Houston office told a recent Wheelhouse Travel Alliance webinar that the airline now serves 300 international destinations and 53 domestic ones, and flies to more countries than any other carrier.

“We cover the world and Istanbul is the hub,” he said, adding that it serves over 50 countries found within five hours’ of Istanbul, which he said is in an ideal location for air travellers.

Turkish Airlines’ network includes Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

That network also includes over 62 African locations and features points throughout the Middle East and Asia, while those wanting to travel to Australia with the airline can choose between Sydney and Melbourne.

Business Class passengers will find a “fully flat (bed) product” and its signature Sky Chef meal service, Hamza reported.

Hamza praised Turkish Airlines’ Economy Class service for being “very spacious.” Those travelling in Economy have a choice of over 200 movies.

Transiting passengers who have over six hours in Istanbul are offered free guided tours of that city, with the tours available from morning to evening 365 days a year. A tour desk is found in the airport.

Turkish Airlines has two Istanbul airport lounges, with Business Class passengers offered a Nap Room in which they can sleep.

Business Class passengers with a layover of nine or more hours are offered a hotel room, transportation to the hotel and a meal, while Economy Class passengers with a wait of 12 or more hours get a free hotel room.

As well, stopovers are available in Istanbul for those continuing beyond the city, with two free nights offered to Economy Class passengers and a free three-night stay available for those travelling Business Class.

Hamza reported Turkish Airlines has won numerous awards for its service, including from the airline industry’s authoritative Skytrax.  “When you fly with Turkish Airlines, you fly with the best. It’s not what we are saying. It’s what the customers tell us.”

Hamza noted that Turkish Airlines Holidays offers vacation experiences within Turkiye and in some European countries. The airline notes Turkiye’s long coast attracts sun-seekers to a country seen as being a bridge between Europe and Asia, and Turkiye also has many archeological sites dating back thousands of years.

Turkiye has “every kind of location, every season,” the airline states.

An airline help desk can be reached by emailing [email protected].

Hamza said agents wanting to learn more about Turkiye can access goturkiye.com.
